Abstract artist Olivia Myer's journey in art began in the late 1990's when she began making hand-built pottery in college. For 16 years, this was her primary medium. In 2005, she attended school to learn calligraphy and practiced that for years using three different hands (styles of alphabet). Painting came to her more recently. She always admired abstract styles, initially painting with brushes only. Not satisfied with the result, she applied palette knife techniques to finally achieve her current style. Through trial and error, Olivia continues to evolve with each painting.
Olivia grew up in northwest Georgia and currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. After graduating from Darlington School, she pursued a degree at Jacksonville State University in Family & Consumer Sciences. After managing restaurants for a decade, Olivia works nearly exclusively on her art.
